personality: shade is very quiet and observant. highly intelligent, though shade won't often discuss any plans with the team. just goes and does it. doesn't show any emotion, or at least tries not to. very composed, even in the most dangerous situations. has a deep hatred for the church. does not trust anyone. trust is something only to be betrayed, and shade lives life alone. also has a deep fear of the water.

abilities: shade is very observant and notices things most others would not. is also extremely quick, and ambidextrous. fights with two knives that are hidden until the spring from the sides of the gauntlets. shade will go for the killing blow every time. ever since shade was younger, something odd has happened. people will tend to forget things about shade, like the appearance, and even conversations. if shade wants to be quiet, other people will hardly notice anything shade does. shade also can see in the dark far better than anyone else. shade doesn't have the gift of magic, but has the odd ability to see it.

background: lived in a tiny town in the empire with a family of farmers, and everything seemed like it should be quiet and normal. but when shade was 5, an old man moved into the town. he was a magician, or so he claimed, but shade saw no magical energies surrounding the man when he would do his tricks. the old man was the only one to remember shade, and took a great interest in the child. when shade was 8, the inquisition of the church came to the town and started to burn everything. with no explanation, they killed every single person. shade hid as best as possible, trying to escape, but got cornered at the river. the old man was there, and when the inquisition came, he shielded shade from view. the men ordered that the old man stand down, that they had detected an evil presence in this town that was from the devil. something magical. the old man claimed it was himself, and he was shot with several arrows. he pushed shade into the river. carried downstream, shade nearly drowned, but survived. shade swore vengeance on the church that day. when shade was 13, the dreams started. horrible nightmares involving magic and death, and that got shade thinking. there was no magic in the town, but the inquisition came. shade knew he was connected some how, and made a goal to bring the supernatural back to the world, and destroy the inquisition so the magic can survive.
